Install types
This Guide will teach you how to install the Bot Warfare mod by INeedGames
Bot Warfare can be installed as either always loaded scripts or as a mod that has to be loaded explicitly.
- Script
- Uses your default stats
- Gets loaded automatically when starting a private match or server
- Does not require a player to download the mod when connecting
- Mod
- Uses its own stats file (everyone starts at rank 1)
- Has to be loaded explicitly from the mod list
- Other players need to download the mod to join your game
Script installation
1. Download the Bot Warfare mod
Download
2. Locate your game folder
Open Steam, right-click Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009) in your games library.
Move your mouse to Manage and select Browse local files
3. Extract the required files

Extract the
scriptdata folder and the z_svr_bots.iwd file
- Place the extracted files in the
userraw folder inside your game directory
- Start a private match, the default key to open the menu is

Open the bot warfare archive and navigate to the shown directory

Mod installation
1. Download the Bot Warfare mod

Open Steam, right-click Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009) in your games library.
Move your mouse to Manage and select Browse local files
3. Install the mod
- Move the files/folders found in
Move files to root of MW2 folder from the Bot Warfare release archive you downloaded into the root of your MW2 install folder
- The folder/file structure should follow as
MW2 game folder\mods\mp_bots\z_svr_bots.iwd
- The mod is now installed, now run your game
- If you are a dedicated server, you will need to set the DVAR
fs_game to mods/mp_bots
- If you are not a dedicated server, open the
Mods option from the main menu of the game and select mp_bots and then Launch
- The mod should be loaded! Now go start a map and play!
